Mr. Ueno has been the Founder & Owner of Synapse Holdings Limited, Synapse Partners Limited, Synapse Company Limited and SMC Synapse Partners Limited (“Synapse”), Mr. Ueno has been currently serving Synapse’s active portfolio companies as a Board Director for 21Vianet Group Inc. (NASDAQ:VNET), Hivelocity Inc., Catalyst Group Limited (Exicon Limited) and aBitCool, Inc., and served for Insource (HK) Ltd., Biomass Energy Corporation, CDC GS Japan Ltd (JV with CDC Corp. NASDAQ:CHINA), BeyondSoft Group Holding Limited (SZSE: 2649), SmileJet Co., Ltd., Neudia Holding Limited, Be4Technology Limited, TransVirtual K.K. and Liya Education Holdings (HK) Ltd. in the past.

Mr. Ueno also currently serves as Investment Committee Member of Beijing Yi Zhuang Smart Cloud Investment Center L.P., and Limited Partner of New Industry Creation Investment L.P. (Tmsuk Co., Ltd.) and IP Investment Industrialization #1 Investment L.P. (IP Power Systems K.K. and Biomass Energy Corp. etc.).

As a part of strategic alliance with Synapse, Mr. Ueno managed several venture funds such as the Japan-China Bridge Fund as Venture Partner, Intellectual Property Bank (IPB) Partners Fund #1 in Japan and IPB Holding LLC in the United States as General Partner.

Prior to founding Synapse, Mr. Ueno also served as CEO and a principal investor, Cycolor, Inc. in USA, a renowned company, owning over 260 patents in digital imaging industry, which is cited in 1989 by Popular Science magazine as one of the top-100 innovation companies in science and technology. Mr. Ueno transformed the company into a viable organization by employing a series of restructuring and fund-raising programs resulting in over US$80 million in equity and debt investment and strategic partnerships with several leading Fortune 300 companies. Cycolor was acquired by Eastman Kodak in early 2003 as one of the largest multi-million dollar IP transaction at the time.

Mr. Ueno worked for Fujitec, from April 1985 to May 1997, in various managerial capacities in Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Spain and Hong Kong, and was responsible for overall management of those overseas operations. Mr. Ueno received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Takushoku University. While a student, Mr. Ueno was a member of the University’s renowned Karate club, winning for the university several team championships in national contests.

Mr. Chu currently serves as a board director and managing director of Orchestral Holdings, which is a total solution provider in healthcare vertical sector covering US, Hong Kong and China. Mr. Chu manages Orchestrall's overall relationships, investments, operations and growth strategy for Asia Pacific region. Prior to Orchestrall, Mr. Chu directed and executed investment and global sourcing services strategy for Beyondsoft Group which was an investment portfolio of Synapse. As vice president of US operation, he managed sales and delivery team and established business relationships with Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Synapse, he was a founder and and CTO of CyberTel, a Synapse portfolio company, and worked at Timeplex, AT&T, IBM and Biztrans. Mr. Chu received a Master of Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and throughout his career has taken extensive financial and management training courses at Rutgers University. He also serves on the board of directors for JOMI International and Century Vision Associates.

Mr. Win is an advisor at CDL Ventures, University of Toronto, a global leader in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He was previously an operating partner at GSR Ventures which has over $1 billion under management and invests in early and growth stage technology companies in the US and Greater China. Prior to GSR, Vincent held senior executive positions at ATI Technologies, a global leader in visual computing solutions, where he developed and managed more than US$1.2 billion revenue. Mr. Win founded three strategic business units at ATI and quadrupled the company’s market capitalization on Nasdaq (ATI was acquired by AMD for $5.4 billion). Mr. Win was also a senior executive at a number of venture-backed Silicon Valley companies with successful exits. He began his career in technology at Monolithic Memories which created FPGA industry. Mr. Win holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a chancellor’s scholar.

Mr. Mio is founder & CEO of Mio & Company Inc., a management consulting firm focusing on the growth strategy of SMEs in Japan, and founder and managing partner of Oct Advisors Inc., a cross border M&A advisory boutique in Tokyo.

Prior to this position, Mr. Mio was co-founder and CEO of Asuka DBJ Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm investing in China, Japan and US, which was a joint venture between Asuka Asset Management and Development Bank of Japan to manage a JPY 22 billion limited partnership, and served as director and observer of a number of the portfolio companies such as Lifenet Insurance (Mothers:7157) and 21Vianet Group Inc. (NASDAQ:VENT). Mr. Mio started his 18-year investment banking career at Salomon Brothers where he was Managing Director and Head of M&A Group as well as Co-Head of Consumer Group in Japan and advised a number of cross-border and domestic M&A and capital markets transactions across in the TMT, consumer/healthcare, and industrial sectors.

Mr. Mio received B.A. in Latin American Studies and M.A. in International Relations from the University of Tokyo.

Mr. Wu is currently a founder & CEO of Liya Education Holding (HK) Limited and Beijing Music Factory internet technology Co., Ltd, which is the proprietary contents and software based educational service provider for preschool education in China.

Prior to found Liya, Mr. Wu was assistant to chairman & CEO of 21Vianet and representative of Synapse Beijing office. Mr. Wu was also founder & CEO of Shanda network technology early days prior to join Synapse.

Mr. Wu was research fellow of the computer science technology at Beijing research academy of University of Science and Technology in China.

Mr. Fukumitsu is a founder & CEO of Hivelocity Inc., a web service management venture focusing on the growth of SaaS & PaaS layer in Japan.

Mr. Fukumitsu is well known in social media sector in Japan giving social marketing tools Hivelocity developed such as "HSA” ("Hivelo Social Apps"). The objective of those tools is to support and help B2B, B2C and C2C companies on Facebook, allowing them to use 18 applications for free and build their brands online.

Currently Hivelocity is developing a number of new services such as "hubsynch" (a payment management platform that works with online and offline payment systems), “Base Station” (a platform that helps companies to integrate Inbound Marketing in their web development).

Prior to founding Hivelocity, Mr. Fukumitsu was director of K.K. Mediapit as digital contents production expert and working at Business Management department of Semiconductor Business unit at Sony Corporation.

Mr. Fukumitsu received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and M.A. in Urban Planning from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
